Haitian music is so diverse, It's not just konpa anymore!as I began my the research on Haitian music, I was only expecting information about konpa music. then I've come to realize that there is a little bit of everything in Haitian Music.
Haitian music is like a melting pot of other genres of music. Rock, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop, you name it.
I wonder what kind of Haitian music exist in other parts of the world that we don't know about. for example, if haitians lived in the middle east, what would they come up with?

diversity in Haitian MusicHave you ever checked out Mozayik?Afro-Haitian jazz quintet based in NYC, they have a diversity of influences from American jazz, gospel, funk, European classical music etc...but the Haitian drum rhythms are the constant throughout.... Strong Haitien PeopleWe as Haitien people need to understand, that though we may have a lot of problems in our country, we are still a very strong group of people, we\'ve survived the worst of things in our history and we are still going strong. What these celebraties need to understand is though it\'s not good business to say that they\'re Haitien. It will help the world recognize that we are talented people, which in all actuality we are very talented people, and we have a lot going for ourselves. When you deny the fact that you\'re Haitien you make it worst for those Haitiens who do have talent to understand that they are of value, and that should be represented to the upmost. Haiti would be so much better if our people will value themselves more and not just see themselves as poor black deprived people, that has no way out. We need to stop talking about who should admit thery\'re Haitien it dosen\'t matter because as long as you are black you will never be accepted in this country no matter where you come from. So all of the other carribbean islands and all you \"black americans\" who has something negative to say about haitien people you bring the true meaning to the word NIGGER!!! because that\'s what you are when you look down on another black race. As a black community we need to unite as one people. Who ever doesn\'t want to admit who their truly are so be it! We don\'t need you anyway! we are strong on our own. And that\'s should be the mentally of all black people. \"Like us!
