Haitian pastor rescues street children and offers the hope of Christ

Jehu Metellus could be living a comfortable, quiet life, serving as a church pastor in Canada or the United States, where he has many friends and associates.

Instead, the 51-year-old spends all of his days in his native country raising 23 boys – all rescued from the hard streets of Haiti’s capital and surrounding towns.

Metellus, whose home, the Rehabilitation Center of Special Education (CRES, the acronym for the French pronunciation) houses boys ranging from age two to 18, says his vision – which he developed while doing graduate work in psychology – is simple.
