99 reasons not to be president of Haiti

8/22/2005, 11:24 PM

My Opinion: There are close to 100 people who want to be president of Haiti if not more. As soon as one becomes president, the other 99 will team up and form an opposition and then it starts all over again.

Here are your 99 reasons not to be president of Haiti.

The constitution of haiti should be ammended to make it illegal for people to "Manifeste kont yon president" in power.

The constitution should make words like "ABA" and "RACHE MANYOK" illegal. If they can't say it, it won't happen!

99 people starts screaming "ABA" in the streets and all of a sudden, "Pep la" pa vle prezidan-an.

There you go... another 99 reasons.

99 newpapers out there need bad news to write about and sell their newspapers.  the more we screw up the more money they make.

There you go... 99 reason why haitians should cut the crap!

I can see the kind you are. You probably were among those who in the early 60s were saying VIV Duvalier A Vie, or in the 80s "la Présidence A vie est une nécessité historique" or in the early 2000, "Aristide Roi, si ou pa vle li, bwe poison

The issue is "Haitian". How do explain the number of political parties currently in existence in Haiti. Most people don't want to hold a honest job, therefore they form political parties to run for president. They know that being president is the shortest ride to the coffer of the country. We should ammend the constitution to require declaration of assets for anyone who want to serve in the government and create an oversight panel to track the income and assets during their time in the government. Anyone caught stealing should be executed in front of the people. I bet you money that we would a much smaller number of people would be running for president. Tell some of these people to get real jobs.

What Haiti needs right now is not a bunch a political parties. I know I am little bit out of subject. But what we need is to empower ourselves. There are many ways we can do so. First of all Agriculture is very important we need to feed ourselves, we need to educate our people, learn technology and most of all learn to live as a nation.

All those political parties are just making a bad situation worst. We need to find a way to have not more than three parties (Democrat, republican, liberal) and no more than three candidates. 99 candidates sounds like anarchy to me.

Thx,

KitKat

You know what, i am tired of people saying that us Haitians are on bull, tell that crap to someone else. Some Haitians are living hell in Haiti so they want to come here to The U.N. States to get a better life for their family and I donot see anything wrong with that.
